Hello 👋 I’m back I would say I’m 1 or 2 months out from starting on my 2001 gmc Sierra bed. I made a comment 3 years ago explaining this is how I plan to repair my step side. Well after a long wait and dragging this pickup from house to house. I finally have my permanent home and the money to start redoing this pickup. I’m so dam excited every time I would think about the bed I thought about this exact video.

This stuff really is pretty incredible. I'm in the process of restoring my '86 Vette, and all the interior trim pieces are plastic. Lots of cracked pieces and pieces where attachment tabs had broken off. Over the years I had tried baking soda/super glue, epoxy, and fiberglass, and they always end up failing. I just lived with the rattles. I was able to use Plastifix to restore all of this stuff! Some of the interior trim pieces are $200 for one piece! This stuff pays for itself many times over. Also did some hot air welding on my driver side/rear wheel shroud which was cracked in 3 places. While I didn't use Polyvance's equipment (sorry, too expensive for this home hobbyist) I do appreciate the instructional videos! (note for hot air I used my hot air soldering station).

Excellent video & general information but honestly the background music is totally "SHIT" When one is trying to concenrate hard on doing this type of work rest assured the last thing anyone needs to listen to is this sheer & utter shithouse background music!! So obviously you got the music free as no bastard in their right mind would even want to listen to this sheer & utter shit let alone be expected to pay for it!!

Is there any reason not to fill in those waffles to increase the strength? Obviously they manufacture these with the waffle to save on material costs, but not sure why one would skimp at this point.

Can you weld hdpe to mdpe plastic tank?

Do professionals never embed mesh or similar reeinforcement? It seems like an easy way to make sure the weld point is actually stronger than before

I'm using this stuff on my 86 vette repair, cockpit bezels, etc. I'm done, but I may need to redo it, as I wanted to get away from painting anything, but it's pretty much impossible to sand and sand and sand all the scratch marks out to get to the original finish, but repairing the broken tabs worked great! Super easy to use, and a little goes a long way!

How long does "fully cure" mean? I don't see it in the instructions. I see it's sandable after 10 minutes.

No preheating of the base and welding strip, only putting heat at the joint. Poor welding technique, of course the Air side was going to burn.

So annoying that car manufacturers design these slots with 90* corners, which is where stress fractures will almost always occur, rather than rounded ends. Also, these are fun to watch! Always enjoy a watching someone skilled at their craft show their magic.

So the infuser is like 4k, for most people commenting here cheaper to get a new bumper or a whole Carr 😂

When doing layers, are you allowing each layer to cure before the next layer?
